Clyde Wong started his career in professional interior design since early 1980’s.  He has worked for reputable international design firms like Hirsch Bedner & Associates, and Dale Keller & Associates.  In 1993, he established his own design company - Wong’s Interior & Associates Ltd offering interior design and project management services. Thereafter, he set up another company called WIA Design Consultants. Major projects under his professional design and project management included the Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne, Hyatt Hotel in Macau, Kinabalu Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and the Pacific Hotel in Singapore.  PRC projects included the renowned Jinling Hotel in Nanjing, the VIP Tower of Peking Hotel in Beijing, UA Theatres in Wuhan and Chunghing, Guangzhou Yihe Chanzhuang Group & Nan Hai Hui Jiang Group.

Since then, he has been providing interior design and project management services to a diversified clientele.  His clients in Hong Kong include the Bank of China Group, Bank of Communications, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Cosco (Hong Kong) Group Ltd, and China Insurance Group. He was commissioned the Design Consultant for the Bank of China and Bank of Communications in the 1990’s. Under his leadership, his company has achieved two awards from the Asia Pacific Interior Design Competition (APIDA)

Clyde has been looking for ways and means to broaden his horizons. In 2006, he enrolled in a master degree programme in design offered by the Design School, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

ABOUT CLYDE WONG COLLECTION

This book, foreword by Lorraine Justice, Director of School of Design, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, presents 14 of Clyde’s recent creations in residential space. It provides an insight of Clyde’s design approaches, many of which can be traced back to his extensive experiences in the hotel industry.
